Intracoastal Waterway in Delray Beach Reveals Shocking Crime Scene

Law enforcement officials were horrified when they discovered a gruesome scene in the Intracoastal Waterway of Delray Beach. On July 21, a 911 call reported a floating suitcase with a foot sticking out of it. Upon investigation, authorities found not one, but three suitcases containing the dismembered body of 80-year-old Aydil Barbosa Fontes, wife of 78-year-old William Lowe.

Investigators Connect the Dots and Make an Arrest

Through diligent work, investigators were able to piece together evidence from witnesses, surveillance footage, and the suspect’s peculiar behavior in the area. A witness reported seeing a man repeatedly visiting the location and paying close attention to a suitcase in the water. This, combined with surveillance footage and information about the suspect’s vehicle, ultimately led investigators to William Lowe.

Criminal Trail Leads to Disturbing Discoveries

A search warrant of Lowe’s residence revealed haunting evidence of the crime. Blood was found in every room, along with cleaning supplies and a 9mm gun. Furthermore, Lowe’s suspicious actions during the search, such as attempting to enter his home through a window, led investigators to a storage unit. In this unit, they made another chilling find: a chainsaw covered in what appeared to be blood and remains.

Charges Filed and Arrest Made

On August 2, William Lowe was apprehended and is now facing charges of first-degree murder and abusing a dead body. He is currently being held without bond at the Palm Beach County Detention Center.

Lead Detective Mike Liberta described the scene inside Lowe’s home as one of the most disturbing he has ever witnessed. “He dismembered a body,” Liberta shared, illustrating the gruesome nature of the crime.
