Missing Goldman Sachs Staffer’s Body Identified After Being Found in NYC Waterway

The body of John Castic, a 27-year-old employee at Goldman Sachs who had been reported missing, was discovered floating in a creek in New York City. Castic was last seen leaving a Zeds Dead concert at The Brooklyn Mirage in the East Williamsburg neighborhood around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday. Days later, a passerby spotted his body in a section of Newtown Creek called English Kills and immediately alerted the authorities.

After receiving the news from the police, Castic’s father confirmed the identification of his son’s body. His wallet and phone were still on him when he was found. The cause of Castic’s death is yet to be determined, as an autopsy will be conducted by the city’s medical examiner.

Castic had been employed as a senior analyst at Goldman Sachs for nearly a year prior to his disappearance. Speculations about his death suggest it may have been a case of fatal misadventure, and his father believes his judgment may have been impaired at the time. However, the investigation is ongoing to uncover more details.

Interestingly, there may be a possible link between Castic’s case and another incident. In June, psychologist Karl Clemente went missing from the same music venue and was later discovered lifeless in Newtown Creek. Although Clemente’s father believes there could be a connection, the investigation into his son’s death is still open.
