Pence Advocates for National 15-Week Abortion Ban in Hopes of GOP Victory in 2024 Elections

Former Vice President Mike Pence is actively promoting a nationwide ban on abortions after 15 weeks, seeing it as a potential rallying point for the Republican Party in the 2024 elections. During an upcoming interview on “Fox News Sunday” with Shannon Bream, Pence emphasized his belief that this stance could have a significant impact on the outcome of the election. He stressed the personal importance of the issue as well as its strategic value, expressing confidence in its ability to energize the Republican base.

Pence stated, “Beyond its political implications, this issue holds deep personal significance for me. Nonetheless, I believe it can be a winning issue.” He called on all potential Republican presidential candidates to join him in advocating for a national ban on abortions after 15 weeks, citing the example of several European countries that have implemented similar restrictions. In most of these nations, abortion is limited after 12 to 15 weeks.

Throughout his political career, Pence has been a steadfast supporter of the pro-life movement, consistently emphasizing his commitment to protecting unborn life. This position was reiterated and strengthened in his recent speech at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s annual conference.

Pence passionately declared, “The cause of life is our generation’s mission. We cannot rest, we cannot waver until we restore the sanctity of life at the core of American law in every state.”

By urging all Republican presidential candidates to embrace a 15-week abortion ban, Pence is proposing a way to unite the party around a common agenda. He believes that taking this stance can mobilize supporters, solidify the party’s base, and potentially tilt the scales in favor of the Republicans in the 2024 elections. Pence’s support for this policy approach underscores his continued influence within the party and his commitment to shaping its trajectory leading up to the next presidential race.
