Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), the leading Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, has voiced strong disapproval of Chairman James Comer’s decision to release bank records related to Hunter Biden’s financial transactions. The records have brought to light substantial payments made to Hunter Biden and his associates by Eastern European oligarchs. However, Raskin countered the release by asserting that it fails to provide any evidence of wrongdoing on President Biden’s part, as there is no direct implication of the president in the bank records.

Raskin accused Republican committee members of merely rehashing the same investigation into Hunter Biden’s business dealings that have been previously scrutinized. He stressed that the evidence collected thus far has established that President Biden had no involvement in his son’s business activities. Furthermore, Raskin accused Republicans of distorting and misrepresenting evidence to support their baseless calls for an impeachment inquiry, all while attempting to divert attention away from the legal issues faced by former President Trump.

According to the bank records, there were monthly payments of $83,333 to both Hunter Biden and his former associate Devon Archer from Ukrainian energy company Burisma, totaling over $3.3 million between 2014 and 2015. During a recent appearance before the House Oversight Committee, Devon Archer acknowledged that President Biden brought significant value to the Biden “brand,” but did not directly link the president’s actions to their business activities.

These developments mark yet another episode in the ongoing examination of the Biden family’s financial transactions.
