Former President Donald Trump and 18 other individuals have been indicted by a grand jury in Georgia as part of an investigation led by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. The investigation is focused on alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election in the state. Presented in a 98-page indictment, the charges span a wide range of individuals involved in the case.
The co-defendants named in the indictment include former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, former Georgia Republican Party Chairman David Shafer, state Senator Shawn Still, and attorneys John Eastman, Sidney Powell, Jenna Ellis, Bob Cheeley, Ray Smith III, and Kenneth Chesebro. Additionally, former assistant U.S. Attorney General Jeffrey Clark, GOP strategist Michael Roman, former Coffee County elections supervisor Misty Hampton, former Coffee County GOP chairwoman Cathy Latham, Atlanta bail bondsman Scott Hall, publicist Trevian Kutti, Illinois pastor Stephen Cliffguard Lee, and Harrison Floyd, a former director of Black Voices for Trump, are all implicated.
The indictment was unveiled after a ten-hour grand jury session, during which testimonies were heard before voting on the charges. In response to the indictments, the Trump campaign criticized Fani Willis, accusing her of being a “rabid partisan” and using the indictments as a means to campaign and raise funds against President Trump.
